Wearable Relics of the Ancient East

There’s something undeniably attractive about the ancient civilizations of Asia: the 5,000 years of China, nomadic tribes who live off the land, mighty empires that have risen and fallen—all of this is a source of inspiration for me.

​

I started making jewelry during the 2010s, when I was an arts writer and editor. I loved visiting museums and marveling at the precious artifacts. Their beauty and craftsmanship prompted me on a journey of design and exploration.

 

Through Elire Dantes Designs, I partner with craftspeople based here in the United States. They carry with them traditions that are histories in their own right. Each creation is thus a result of coauthoring between myself and the jeweler.
